Happy Birthday Emily

Eight years ago today Emily came into our lives...and we've never been the same since.  She was conceived between two hurricanes and born during a nor'easter.  We teased that someday she'd have a great weather girl name - Stormy.  But while she at times blusters ( she comes from a long line of drama queens), she is the most amazing girl I've ever met.  She loves her brother immensely.  Goes all gooey when she sees little babies.  Enjoys photography - of herself :-).  Is Webkinz crazed.  Hannah Montana too.  She's absolute tops in her parents book.

Today she celebrates not having to sit in a booster seat as well as the normal birthday cake and presents...

We love you Emily!

Have a remarkable year!!!

Scary new hobby

Okay, many of you (especially with 8 year old girls) will know about the phenomenon of Webkins, little stuffed animals you register and play games with online, order new free standing toilet facilities and paddling pools for, little stuffed toys you go online to feed, bathe, manicure and put to bed each night (or they get really cranky apparently)...
What you don't know and I'm sharing with you as a concerned husband is that my wife, Kathryn to be precise, was given a webkin by my daughter as a mother's day present.
Presenting Goldy....
Now it's one thing for Kathryn to go online and play games with Emily's webkins in a Mom-daughter kind of way, but I caught her the other evening playing webkins Mah-Jongg on her own, like in her precious free time! What can I do about this? Any suggestions anyone?

Trip to Lusby, MD

Here are a few photos of our late April trip to Lusby, MD to visit our friends, Dawn and Rich Good and their adorable daughter, Adrie. As you can tell, my blogging skills with photos do leave a little to be desired! We had great hospitality from the Goods, got to visit a local beach and a great park, and, as you can see, the ice cream van visited to leave the kids sticky and happy. Ah, the blessings of good friends!
